Aspirin plus clopidogrel versus aspirin alone for the prevention of coronary artery bypass graft occlusion: angiographic and clinical results of a randomized study

چکیده
Method In this single-centre prospective randomized study, 200 consecutive patients undergoing elective CABG were randomly assigned to two groups: 97 patients received aspirin 300 mg (A) and 103 patients received aspirin 100 mg plus clopidogrel 75 mg (AC). Antiplatelet protocol was initiated immediately after surgery and continued daily for one year. Graft patency was evaluated by multislice computed tomography angiography (MSCT) 18 months after surgery. The occurrence of major cardiac or cerebrovascular adverse events (MACCE) and bleeding complications during follow-up were assessed.

Aspirin plus clopidogrel therapy increases early venous graft patency after coronary artery bypass surgery a single-center, randomized, controlled trial.
OBJECTIVES We sought to evaluate the effect of aspirin plus clopidogrel versus aspirin alone on saphenous vein graft occlusion at 3 months after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). BACKGROUND Prevalence of graft occlusion is high after CABG. Aggressive antiplatelet therapy is expected to improve early post-operative graft patency. METHODS From December 2007 through December 2008, 249 co...
متن کاملAnti-coagulation therapy following coronary endarterectomy in patient with coronary artery bypass graft
Background: Since there is a lack of research on postoperative anticoagulation protocol in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) / coronary endarterectomy (CE), we recommend a new protocol for anticoagulation in these patients. Methods: In this double-blind randomized clinical trial study, 52 patients undergoing CABG / CE entered the study and were divided into two groups. In...
متن کاملThe clopidogrel after surgery for coronary artery disease (CASCADE) randomized controlled trial: clopidogrel and aspirin versus aspirin alone after coronary bypass surgery [NCT00228423]
BACKGROUND Saphenous vein graft disease remains a major limitation of coronary artery bypass graft surgery. The process of saphenous vein intimal hyperplasia begins just days after surgical revascularization, setting the stage for graft atherosclerotic disease and its sequalae. Clopidogrel improves outcomes in patients with atherosclerotic disease, and is effective at reducing intimal hyperplas...
متن کاملCardiovascular Surgery Aspirin Plus Clopidogrel Versus Aspirin Alone After Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting The Clopidogrel After Surgery for Coronary Artery Disease (CASCADE) Trial
Background—Clopidogrel inhibits intimal hyperplasia in animal studies and therefore may reduce saphenous vein graft (SVG) intimal hyperplasia after coronary artery bypass grafting. The Clopidogrel After Surgery for Coronary Artery DiseasE (CASCADE) study was undertaken to evaluate whether the addition of clopidogrel to aspirin inhibits SVG disease after coronary artery bypass grafting, as asses...
